Getting started

What is the Hannie Portable High Chair?

A space-saving high chair for children from around 6 months to 5 years that attaches securely to a standard adult dining chair. It folds flat, weighs about 2 kg packed, and comes with a protective tote bag so it travels anywhere you do.

From what age can my baby use it?

From around 6 months, once your baby has good head and neck control and can sit with support. Those are the same readiness signs used for starting solids. It then converts to a toddler seat and lasts to around 5 years (25 kg maximum).

How long will it last?

From roughly 6 months to 5 years. In Baby Chair mode (with the Reversible Cushion, harness and tray) it supports up to 15 kg; converted to Toddler Seat mode it supports up to 25 kg.

Can it replace a traditional high chair?

For most families, yes. It puts your child at the family table using a chair you already own, then converts as they grow, without a bulky frame taking up floor space. See our comparison of seat types for an honest look at where each option wins.

Do I need the Reversible Cushion?

The cushion gives younger babies extra comfort and support, and its ergonomic Back Plate Support adds stability while they're still learning to sit through a meal. As your child grows you simply remove it.

Safety & standards

Is the Hannie Portable High Chair safe?

Yes. It's tested to EN 16120:2012+A2:2017 (the European chair-mounted seat standard), AS/NZS 8124.3, CPN No. 11 and US FDA 21 CFR requirements. Always read the manual, fit the 3-point harness, and supervise your child during use.

What kind of dining chair should I attach it to?

A sturdy four-legged chair with a firm, flat seat and a high backrest. The seat needs to be at least 38 cm wide, 35 cm deep and 30 cm high. Avoid stools, swivel chairs, folding chairs and soft, padded seats. Try our interactive fit guide to check your chairs.

Can I use it on the floor or in the bath?

No. It's designed only for secure attachment to an adult dining chair. Never use it freestanding on the floor, on a table, or in wet environments.

What is the weight limit?

Up to 15 kg in Baby Chair mode and up to 25 kg in Toddler Seat mode.

Travel & everyday use

How much does it weigh?

About 2 kg packed, including the Reversible Cushion, which is light enough to carry to a café, a restaurant, or the grandparents' place without thinking twice.

Does it fit under a pram?

Yes. Packed in its tote bag it fits under most stroller baskets, so it can come along to brunch, holidays and weekends away.

How quickly does it set up?

It attaches to a dining chair in well under a minute once you've done it a couple of times. Watch the 60-second setup video to see the whole process.

Cleaning & care

Is the tray dishwasher-safe?

Yes. The tray is food-safe and dishwasher-safe on a gentle cycle at 50–60°C, or you can simply wipe it with a damp cloth. The seat and seat support shouldn't go in the dishwasher.

How do I clean the seat?

Wipe the seat and seat support with a damp cloth after meals. For stubborn stains, use warm water and a mild detergent.

Can I machine-wash the cushion and harness?

Yes. The Reversible Cushion washes on a gentle cycle at up to 40°C. Always remove the Back Plate Support first, skip dry cleaning, and tumble dry low. The harness is machine washable at 40°C in a laundry bag, without tumble drying.

Sustainability & longevity

Is the Hannie Portable High Chair sustainable?

It's designed around the idea of fewer, better baby products: one chair replaces the high chair, travel seat and booster you'd otherwise buy, it's built to serve to 25 kg, and it's 100% recyclable by the end user at the end of its life.

Can it be handed down to a second child or sold on?

Yes, that's the point of building it to last. Every part wipes or machine-washes clean, the seat is rated to 25 kg, and the 2-year warranty even transfers to second-hand owners with proof of purchase.

What happens when my child outgrows it?

Pass it on to a sibling, a friend, or the second-hand market, where the transferable warranty keeps it genuinely useful. If it's truly at the end of its life, it's 100% recyclable by the end user.

Warranty, delivery & orders

What warranty does it come with?

A 2-year warranty from the original purchase date, honoured in Australia by Coolkidz Australia, the exclusive authorised distributor. It covers manufacturing faults under normal use, for original and second-hand owners with proof of purchase.

How do I make a warranty claim?

Lodge a ticket at help.coolkidz.com.au with your proof of purchase, a description of the issue and photos or video. Approved claims are repaired, replaced, refunded or credited.

Who sells Hannie in Australia?
